Product SupportActiveSweep User Guide* ActiveSweep is no longer sold or supported. Quick-Start Learning ManualsEverything you see and do on your computer is recorded in some fashion. Even if you spend the hours that it would take to manually cover your tracks, you will not get it all! ActiveSweep instantly finds and removes ALL traces of sensitive activity so you don't have to worry. Use the following guides to help in getting setup. Just click on the guide for a pop-up teaching tool that will step you through each part. 1. Getting SetupSetting up your Sweep Options
ActiveSweep can Sweep your system in different ways at different times. You set which cleanup tasks ActiveSweep carries out for each Sweep Mode; Manual Sweep, Scheduled Sweep, Startup Sweep, and Shutdown Sweep. Let's begin by selecting some Windows-related tasks for each Sweep Mode. You can do that by clicking on the Windows tab on ActiveSweep. Select the task you want performed for each type of Sweep (Manual, Startup, Shutdown, or Scheduled) by checking off the boxes in the columns. You can designate that certain tasks only be performed during certain types of Sweeps. In this example, ActiveSweep is set to delete temporary files during a Manual Sweep and Scheduled Sweep only (note that there are no checkmarks in the Startup and Shutdown columns for that row).
Now, click on the Internet tab and make similar choices for each Sweep Mode just as you did under the Windows tab. Select a set of tasks for each Sweep Mode by checking off the boxes in each column.
If you selected any tasks for the Manual Sweep Mode, you can try Sweeping right now! Click on the Main tab and then click on Manual Sweep. You will see a list of tasks set for ActiveSweep to perform. Click Start to begin Sweeping. Besides the Manual Sweep, the other three automatic Sweep Modes will be performed during their designated times, either on startup, on shutdown, or as per your Sweep Schedule. That is, assuming that you have selected tasks for these Modes and activated the Modes in the Options menu.
