Product SupportInstalling ActivePrivacy
After you have downloaded the ActivePrivacy install package, you will need to locate the file on your computer (see the image on the right to see what the ActivePrivacy installer program looks like). It is best to download the installer to your Desktop so you can find it easier. To begin the install process, just use your mouse to double-click on the install icon. WARNING: Before you begin installing, make sure you have completely downloaded the entire installation program. You can check the file size of your download by right-clicking on the icon and selecting Properties. The latest version of ActivePrivacy is 2.2.134 and should read: Size: 4.04 MB * Click here if you are seeing an error message when you try to install. 1. BeginningAfter you open the installer, you will see the ActivePrivacy install Wizard which will step you through the installation process. Read each page and then click on the Next button to be stepped through each section. 2. License AgreementBefore you can protect yourself online by installing and using ActivePrivacy, you must agree to the terms and conditions outlined in the End User License Agreement. Please read them and select Yes to advance to the next step of the installation process. 3. Choose Destination LocationBy default, your ActivePrivacy program will be installed in your Programs File folder on your C: drive. If you wish to change this, click on “Browse” When you are ready, click on Next. 4. Select Program FolderThe installer will put your program in a foler named Ascentive. This way you can find ActivePrivacy by clicking on: Start --> Programs --> Ascentive --> ActivePrivacy Click on Next to continue. 5. SetupThe installer program will begin adding ActivePrivacy to your computer. The installer will update you on its progress by filling a graph bar. Do not interrupt the installation progress! 6. Desktop IconWould you like a shortcut icon for ActivePrivacy on your Desktop? This is completely optional, but will make ActivePrivacy easier to find. If you choose your mind, you can always delete the shortcut icon later. 7. Installed ComponentsFinally, the ActivePrivacy installer program will search your system one last time to make sure you have the correct components installed on your system. 8. Reboot on FinishThe last part of the installation procedure is to reboot your system. Once you reboot, ActivePrivacy will be installed correctly on your system. [ See All
