7. Introduction - Main Console
To the right is a picture of ActiveSpeed's main console window. This is what you will see after you have opened ActiveSpeed and signed in.
The first thing that you are most likely to notice is the area with the three colored meters bouncing up and down measuring your Internet activity.
1. Boost Meter
The first bar, the Boost Meter, is an indicator that your optimization was successful. When it reaches the top, your Internet has been fully optimized. It is also a reminder for when to re-optimize. When you see it drop, you may want to optimize your Internet again and make sure your boost settings are at their optimal levels.
2. Receive Meter
The Receive Meter indicates incoming data to your computer from the Internet (or a LAN). You would receive data whenever you download files, browse the web, use your email, etc. The more you are downloading, the higher you will see this meter rise and the more frequently you will see it bounce up and down! You will sometimes see this meter indicate activity when you are idle as ActiveSpeed can even recognize and boost normal background Internet usage.
3. Send Meter Meter
Just like the Receive Meter, the Send Meter detects Internet activity. However, it detects data coming from your computer and moving out to the Internet (or LAN). You will notice this meter move mostly when uploading files or sending email.
Additionally, the ActiveSpeed icon in your system tray will reflect your Internet activity.

The big X at the top-right corner of the main console will close the main console window. Note: ActiveSpeed is still running! You should still see the ActiveSpeed icon in your system tray (where your system clock is). Closing the main console window will not shut down or disable ActiveSpeed; feel free to close this window to end clutter.
