III. Buttons & Functions

22. Settings Tab - Host File

The hosts file feature lets you set up instant shortcuts to your favorite web sites. For example, you can set up a hosts file entry so when you type 'news' in your browser, it will go to your favorite news web site. Note: This feature is not supported if you are behind a Proxy server or are using Windows NT, 2000, or XP..

Instructions
  1. Enter the host name (www.___.com, ftp.___.com, etc.) into the 'Host Name' text box.
  2. Enter an alias for the web site (such as 'news' or 'search').
  3. Click the 'Add' button or just press Enter key.
Now, when you use your web browser, all you have to do is type in the alias and it will go directly to the site. If you want to delete your entry, just select it in the box and click the 'Remove' button.
