Fixing the iphlpapi error. (Error 48)

In order to fix this problem, you'll need to download the library file to a specified location on your computer. Below are two sets of instructions depending on what Operating System you are using.

If you have Windows 95, 98, or Me:

  1. Click here to download IPHLPAPI.DLL (right click the text on the left and save to your Desktop).

  2. Back up your current copy of IPHLPAPI.DLL and copy the new version to the same file location. This file should be located in the WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory on your C: drive.
    (for most users the path is C:\Windows\System).

  3. Restart your computer.

Download IPHLPAPI.DLL now (right-click on the link and select "Save Target as...").

If you have Windows NT, 2000, or XP:

  1. Click here to download iphlpapi.dll (right click the text on the left and save to your Desktop).

  2. Back up your current copy of iphlpapi.dll and copy the new version to the same file location. This file should be located in the WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 directory on your C: drive.
    (for most users the path is C:\Windows\System32).

  3. Restart your computer.
