Getting Errors Fixed

How Do I Remove Software from my Computer?

To remove software from your computer, first quit out of the program (right click on the icon in taskbar or system tray and select Exit or Close) and then go to your Windows Start Menu --> Settings --> Control Panel --> Add/Remove Programs.

Your Microsoft Add/Remove Programs program will be able to remove, or uninstall, your Ascentive software.

If you still see the program in your taskbar after you have restarted your computer, follow the instructions below:

  • Go to Start --> Find (or Search) --> Files or Folders
  • Type in the program name and hit the Enter key. Make sure that you are searching in the entire drive that the program was installed on (usually C:).
  • Right click on each one and select Delete.
  • Restart your computer.

For ActiveSpeed, you should also search for and delete AS.exe
For ActiveTime, you should also search for and delete AT.exe
For ActiveDefender, you should also search for and delete AD.exe
For ActiveSweep, you should also search for and delete ASP.exe
For ActivePrivacy, you should also search for and delete AP.exe

If you have any problems with this procedure, contact Microsoft or your computer manufacturer for support.

* Note: Removing software from your computer or discontinuing usage of a program or software subscription does not automatically cancel your subscription.

* Note: Uninstalling ActiveSpeed, webROCKET or WINRocket does not remove the settings that they made to your registry (removing the programs will not restore your previous settings). For that reason, do not remove these programs for the purpose of comparing speeds. However, without your programs, these settings will degrade over time. Be sure to optimize often.
